BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH · Prof. Per E. Andrén


 

Per E. Andrén is Professor of Mass Spectrometry Imaging at the Department of Pharmaceutical Biosciences and he is the director of the Spatial Mass Spectrometry infrastructure at Uppsala University. He received a Master in Science (Pharmacy) in 1984, Ph.D. (Psychiatry) in 1989 from Uppsala University, and completed a postdoctoral fellowship (Analytical Chemistry) at the University of Texas Medical School, Houston, USA. Between 2010-2016 he held a 6-year Senior Research Position awarded by the Swedish Research Council, Medicine. He founded a mass spectrometry laboratory at the Uppsala University Biomedical Centre in 2003 and established the first mass spectrometry imaging laboratory in Scandinavia. The laboratory is part of the Swedish Science for Life Laboratory (SciLifeLab) Infrastructure. He does research in Pharmacology, Analytical Chemistry, Biotechnology and Neuroscience.
